Volunteers Needed!

It’s that time of year again!  The course is looking great.  Mike and his team continue to make Simsbury Farms a great place to golf.  Now it is our turn to do our small part of the beautification plan.  Each year SFMC members volunteer a small amount of time to spruce up the tee boxes with flowers and mulch.

Marc Philo and Gerry Wetjen are coordinating our efforts to make this quick and easy for our volunteers.  The mulch and plant materials will be staged at each tee box prior to your arrival.

When you arrive, you will be given instructions and a golf cart to head out to your tee box.  Once completed, the SFMC will be providing “beverages” and snacks for the participants.

You don’t even have to learn to use new equipment!  That’s because we need you to bring your own rake, shovel, gloves, pail, etc..  It doesn’t get any easier!

So you don’t have a green thumb?  It doesn’t take one to prune exiting perennials or rake around your partners work.  You could even help clean off the carts when they return.  There is something for everyone.  You can even bring a non SFMC member with you to help out.

What we need is help!  So you want to know when all this fun starts?  I am glad you asked:

When: Friday, May 12, 2017

Where:  Meet at starters desk.

Time : 5:00-7:30 (inclusive of beverage time)

Some volunteers come earlier to get a head start on all the fun.  I mean, what a way to kick off your weekend!
